The Market is a nice large open planned cafe/restaurant with a good range of western and thai food including a good all day breakfast menu. This wasn’t my first visit, however the first time I did visit this place it was probably the most modern cafe/restaurant. Not so much today as there’s quite a few new places coming up in Hua Hin.

The place is quite spacious with large glass and wooden tables for you to spread your drinks and food all over the table without your plates falling off the edge. It’s got a nice little outdoor area as well if you feel like soaking up the heat and is located out the front of the main central shopping mall of Hua Hin (Market Village) so there’s plenty for you to do either before or after you drink.

For the 3 years I’ve been visiting this place they’ve always had a great happy hour too which covers wine, cocktails and sometimes beer. All the times I’ve visited The Market the happy hour has been focused on the wine and cocktails with reasonable bottled wine going at 100 baht a glass and cocktails around 99 baht. The happy hour generally runs from 5pm – 7pm.

The Experience

Always great! I generally spend a good 1-2 hours every time I come to this place as it has a real comfortable feel too the place and the staff are always really welcoming and not bothered with you just chilling out for a good hour or two – even if it’s just for a coffee or beer.

I started with an eggs benedict and finished up with Cappuccino. I have to say the coffee was pretty ordinary, which is a bit of shame because my previous visits I thought this place had pretty good coffee for a beach town. The meals however were still great as always – well presented, good portions and a good price. The menu had changed a little since last time but still mostly the same (for example they had poached eggs last time I was there but now they only had eggs benedict). They also have other variations of eggs on toast such as scrambled eggs, big breakfast, fried eggs etc. They also have a range of pizza’s, pasta’s, hamburgers, sandwiches and thai food.

I could almost say this place has been my best breakfast in Hua Hin.

Thought Leaving

Relaxed, filled and money well spent.

What I Will Remember

The staff, relaxing environment and good food!

Will I Go Back?

Will always come back to this place – one of my favorite in Hua Hin.

The Market, Market Village, 234/1 Phetkasem Rd. Ban Hua Hin 77110

Getting There

If you’re coming from Hua Hin city center – best to take either a tuk tuk or one of the tuk tuk buses that run up and down the main road (Phetkasem Road). You want to head south (towards Khao Takiab). It’s about 1km from the city center and most of the thai taxi/tuk tuk drivers know where Market Village is – so just say “Market Village”.

Prices are great for this place – very reasonable! Coffee is around 80 baht and meals (starters) starting at around 120 going up to about 500 (for prime steaks etc.) – but the average meal is about 200 baht.

You can check out their Facebook page here.

OK! – I have to say most visits the WiFi has gone up and down once or twice over 2 hour period – but the speed is OK and staff are always happy and quick to reset the router if you’re having problems.
