A cool bar offering craft beer on tap and in bottles – cool little place hidden away in Ekamai which gives at the hidden away and peaceful feel to the place but can be a bit difficult to find for those just visiting Bangkok for the first time.
They have one of the largest range of craft beers on tap in Thailand and the beer does taste amazing, but it comes at a price. For a pint of “on tap” craft beer you’re looking at around ฿300-฿500. For the bottled beers they’re a bit more reasonable and match some of the other bars around Bangkok offering the bottled craft beers.
The good thing with this place is they do offer beer tasting, and before deciding on your on tap craft beer the guys behind the bar will give you a free taste of three of the beers to help you choose (although you would want to be sure at ฿500 for a beer!!).
The food is amazing – I only tried the loaded fries on my visit but have seen the burgers and a few other plates and it all looks amazing!
Mikkeller also has a dedicated beer tasting room where you can pay to taste a selection of craft beers.
So the place is quite unique and hence comes with the price tag. It’s certainly not somewhere I’d call my local, or somewhere you come just for an after work drink. I’d suggest making it an experience and plan to have a meal, do some tasting and make the most of your visit. If you’re after just a beer with a few friends I’d recommend many other bars around the Ekamai/Thonglor area.
You can check out their website here.
What to Expect
It’s great for a one time visit, but you wouldn’t want to come here regularly as the beers are very expensive and there’s many other bars around offering craft beers for a lot better price.
