Bit of long name to remember for this cafe (“JUST FOLLOW THE GOAT X WANNA DRINK”), perhaps they wanted enough text to cover the huge billboard style front which literally covers the whole first floor of the building, so it’s pretty hard to miss this cafe if you’re driving past.
I was a little dissapointing driving past this place at first as it was one of my “go to” craft beer houses had been taken over by a cafe. That’s what this place used to be, a craft beer house (at least a year or so ago). But it wasn’t all sad news, as these new cafe owners have done an amazing job converting this place into a stunning woody/country style, yet modern cafe with HEAPS of space.
The outside and entrance is also very impressive and inviting with the bright and soft aqua colour window frames, yellow lamps, outdoor garden and dining area. It was this front view that got me interested and keen to pop inside and check it out.
Once you walk in, you should find it’s got a really quiet / peaceful vibe to the place and is very homey and comfortable the warm and wooden decor that makes it feel like a country lodge. I was pretty much the only person in the cafe on this day, so that would have had a bit to do with the whole “peaceful”, “quiet” vibe I got from my vist, but it’s so well spaced out, that you could choose yourself a dining table/section and be well away from other people dining in the cafe (table and chairs are really spaced out and quiet a distance from each other).
Walking up to the counter I saw the quality coffee machine and page/sheet of all the coffees available, so I was pretty sure I hit another gem for a good coffee. But what grabbed my attention more, were a couple of stand up promotional menus featuring a Kapow Burrito, and an Angel Hair pasta dish…both looked incredibly delicious. I was eating light today, so a salad or something similar was more what I was after, so I ordered my cappuccino and took the full menu over to my table to take a look at the other food options they had so I could know what my options were for my next visit.
The menu has a good range of options to choose from, and isn’t to overwhelming so you can quickly decide what you’re ordering, and get down to the main purpose of your visit…eating (well for most people that would be the case). I found a couple of salad options on the menu, including a chicken salad for 95 Baht which I ordered soon after taking my seat.
The coffee came out first, and it comes out on a little metal tray, with a glass of warm water, and a sweet type biscuit. The look/appearance of the cappuccino was a little plain, however the taste and texture of the foam was pretty spot on. Overall I was pretty happy with my coffee and will be coming back here for some more coffees in the future.
The chicken salad wasn’t my preferred style of chicken. I generally only eaty Chicken breast, as I like the meat to be more try and meaty, rather than moist, slimy…or “slobbery” is the word I generally use. I believe the chicken was thigh, but it was still quality meat on the chicken so I was still able to eat it. I have to say the portion was quite small, so if you’re rather hungry, I wouldn’t suggest ordering this alone. The dish is however only 95 baht, so the portion, quality and price are well matched.
A couple of days later I cam to try the Spring Rolls and the OTHER chicken salad they had, which WAS breast chicken, and very good too! So I take back what I said in the previous paragraph, because the breast chicken salad is available on the menu, I just ordered the wrong one 🙂
There’s a heap of other options on the menu to choose from as well, here is some of my favourites.
- Quesadillas (a number of variations to choose from)
- FRENCH FRIES (topped with cheese and crispy bacon).
